Ceremonies will be conducted over four days to honor graduates from the current semester as well as those from spring, summer, and fall of 2020 who were unable to participate in a traditional ceremony. Chancellor Riley Releases Video Update on Winter Weather In an email sent Wednesday, Feb. 17, UAFS Chancellor Terisa Riley shared a video regarding campus closure and gratitude to all the students, faculty and staff who are working so hard to continue teaching, learning, and working during this winter storm. Kannan Welcomes Winter Bird-Watchers As Arkansas braces for another round of snowfall and temperatures dip below 0 degrees, the age-old past time of bird watching is bringing joy to river valley residents. Dr. Ragupathy Kannan, professor of ornithology at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, shared some insight into the kinds of birds residents can expect to see in the snow and how to help these feathered friends stay fed during this unusual weather. Homecoming 2021 Lucky to be a Lion Slate Announced The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will celebrate Homecoming 2021 Feb. 22-27 with a blend of virtual and in-person events. This year’s events fall under the theme “Lucky to be a Lion” and will put a digital spin on some of the traditional competitions and events.
